Welcome to Blackburn Pride
On Saturday 18th June 2022, we hosted our first Official Blackburn Pride to champion inclusivity, empowerment, and togetherness. As promised, our event was a safe space for all.
We celebrated Blackburn, both past and present, and especially those that have been monumental in pushing for LGBTQ+ rights. The event was free to enter and indeed approximately 1000 people did just that, and featured a range of local entertainment, activities and stalls for all to enjoy.
Following on from the tremendus sucess of our first pride and the sucess too of our event this year we have decided to do it all again on for a third year on Saturday 15th June 2024 at the Town Hall Square.
We are now hoping that this will become a fixed annual event in the borough’s social calendar.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIR
"It is with great pleasure that I continue to chair the Blackburn Pride Committee for the third year running. I wish to place on record mine and the committee's thanks to all those who joined us for our very first, and successful, Blackburn Pride event 2 years ago, and to those who attended last year also. The committee are working very hard in ensuring #BlackburnPride2024 builds on our previous success, to ensure this continues to live up to the precedent we have set.”
Cllr Jim Shorrock
